The Five Bells is a old coaching house dating back many hundreds of years. It is now the only pub left in Chailey. Originally, Chailey had four Public Houses. In 2025 its had a renovation and external works to keep it in good condition. It has everything you could wish for in a country pub, including; a log fire, cosy bar area, guest beers, local food, delightful gardens and a well equipped restaurant. Our head chef Chris King is passionate about seasonal and local produce; checkout his daily specials with exciting offerings from around Sussex. We are proud to be supporting British farmers.

Local Farmers Supply Co Operative - Our delicious beef burgers come from a famer called Pete French in Barcombe on 3 miles away. Our Succulent Pork sausages come from Plumpton Lambert Farm. All our fruit and veg is sourced from Kent and Sussex. We also have local wine, cider from the south downs and real ales from all over Sussex.
